Trash Pickup
Priority Waste is proud to partner with the City of Westland to provide top-notch trash collection and waste disposal services. Service Days
- Compost Pickup Period: April 1 through December 13th. Any can up to 35 gal, must be labeled, or compost bags, or bundles. Up to 8 total per week accepted.
- Bulk Pick Up: Bulk item pickups are bi-weekly on your RECYCLING DAY.
Excess Trash Bags: Up to eight (8) each service OR Items That Cannot Fit Into a Trash Can: Up to two (2) large items are allowed each service - ITEMS ALLOWED:
- Furniture
- Mattresses
- Appliances
- Includes dryers and refrigerators
- Televisions
- Toilets or sinks
- Carpet and Padding
- Must be cut into 4-foot lengths (or smaller) and must be bundled
- Each bundle must weigh less than 50 pounds
- Up to ten (10) rolls each service (10 rolls = 2 bulk items)
- ITEMS NOT ALLOWED:
- Automobile/car parts
- Includes tires and rims
- Construction or remodeling debris
- Includes shingles, drywall, etc.
- Concrete, bricks, or dirt
- Fencing, wood boards, paneling, or wood pallets
- Gas-powered equipment
- Larger items such as hot tubs, sheds, swing sets, or trampolines
- Lawn gliders, pianos, picnic tables, or pool tables
- Windows, glass doors, glass tabletops, or glass curio cabinets
- Automobile/car parts
- Helpful Tip: If disposing of only two (2) large items, you may also include up to two (2) excess trash bags
- Other Notes: Contact the City for all things related to purchasing/replacing cans.
Collection Information
If your service day falls on or after a Holiday, services will move to the following day. Holidays that affect the schedule are New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
